DISC HERNIATION/ SCIATICA/ PIVD/ DISC BULGE

Disc herniation, also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, occurs when the soft center of a spinal disc pushes through a crack in the outer layer. Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, often caused by a herniated disc pressing on the nerve. PIVD (Prolapsed Intervertebral Disc) is another term for a herniated disc. A disc bulge occurs when the disc protrudes outward but doesn’t rupture, often causing compression of nearby nerves. Symptoms include back pain, leg pain, numbness, or tingling, and treatment may involve rest, physical therapy, medications, or in some cases, surgery.
