Back Pain
Back pain is discomfort felt in the spine or surrounding muscles, often caused by injury, poor posture, or underlying health conditions. It can range from a mild ache to sharp, intense pain, and may affect the lower, middle, or upper back. The pain can be short-term (acute) or long-lasting (chronic). Common causes include muscle strain, herniated discs, and arthritis. Treatment typically involves rest, physical therapy, and sometimes medication or surgery, depending on the severity.
HOW TO PREVENT BACK PAIN
Back pain is a common problem caused by poor posture, weak muscles, obesity, injury, or long sitting hours. Following healthy habits can help protect your back and prevent long-term pain.
1. Maintain Proper Posture
- Sit and stand straight. Keep your shoulders relaxed and back aligned.
2. Exercise Regularly
- Do stretching, yoga, and core-strengthening exercises to support your spine.
3. Avoid Long Sitting Hours
- Take breaks every 30–60 minutes and move around.
4. Lift Objects Correctly
- Bend your knees, not your back. Avoid sudden twisting.
5. Maintain Healthy Body Weight
- Extra weight puts pressure on the spine.
